Our Commitment to Mental Healthcare for Veterans.
Updated: Feb 8
U.S Veterans are our national heroes and are among Americas greatest natural resources.
Unfortunately, due to war, veterans are at risk of mental health concerns such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Depression.
During war, a soldier can be exposed to torture, combat, gun violence, sexual assaults and other negative events that leave them traumatized.
These traumas that soldiers endure during times of war can have long term effects such as nightmares, anxiety, insomnia, substance and alcohol abuse, PTSD, and depression.
The RAND Center for Military Health Policy Research estimates 20% of veterans who served in either Iraq or Afghanistan suffer from either major depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder.
